This town has been the backdrop for many western movies as it is said to be very similar to Indochina.

VISIT TO BIG BUDDHA PHUKET THAILAND



Big Buddha statue in a big blue sky.
Big Buddha’s sheer size makes it an impressive sight up close, and the 360-degree views from the hill are among the best in Phuket, taking in Phuket Town, Chalong Bay, Rawai, Kata, Karon and out across the sea.
Construction is ongoing, with endless additions around the statue’s base being built as well as a concrete staircase, large car park and meditation hall. The statue is frequently wrapped in scaffolding.
Upon arrival there’s the usual array of vendor stands selling snacks and souvenir items, then visitors are ushered through the meditation hall — a large open building with a tin roof. At the hall’s entrance are a number of amulet sellers, as well as tables displaying several ways to donate to the Big Buddha project. This may be off-putting for some but the project is funded entirely by donations. For Thai Buddhists, this is a form of merit-making.
One option is to pay for a marble tile, with a suggested donation of 100 baht for the smallest tile. Those who donate are handed a black marker to sign their name and write a message on the tile. No one is pressured to donate, however, so it’s possible to visit the Big Buddha for free.

Firstly, thank you very much for your interest on visiting our attractions and doing adventurous activity at our aquarium.
Further to your email, I am writing to inform you that “Dive with the shark activity” is included admission ticket already. We won’t need to buy additional admission ticket online. It will take around 30 minutes to do this activity.
There are 3 price levels of Dive with the shark activity. The prices are varied by diving license and diving experience including;
- 5,300 Baht : Diving License Holders (Regular Divers)
- 6,000 Baht : Diving License Holders (Those with less than 10 dives or no recorded dives in the previous 1 year)
- 6,600 Baht : No Diving Experience.
Remark: This activity is kind of an adventurous activity which is only recommended for visitors whose age are 13-55 years old.
If you are interested in doing this activity, please reserve your time with our diving expert at pornpun.somrang@merlinentertainments.biz who is cc. in this mail.
Estimated time to explore each attraction is 1.5-2 hours. Therefore, you can visit both attraction on the same day.
